Where there are people, there are laws. And where there are laws, there is crime.
PVP requires elevated levels of emotional maturity from players who wish to participate in it. And no form of PVP requires more conscientiousness than taking things that belong to others. If you choose to engage in thievery that targets player characters via Pickpocket, Lockpicking, etc. you agree to the following:
I agree to exercise my thievery responsibly, to negotiate with other players to establish their level of consent, ideally before game if possible and to always respect their boundaries. I will not steal items from players if it would cause them emotional distress, and if I make a mistake I will apologize and return the item. I will not steal personal items or mishandle physreps which do not belong to me.
Violation of the PVP Thievery Agreement will result in your PVP privileges being revoked, and depending on the severity you may be banned from the game. If you are not sure: ASK!
You must have the Pickpocket Ability and acquire black clothespin(s) from Logistics.
Affix one of the provided black clothespins to target tagged item’s tag. The thief must then log the theft (there will be a special clipboard with a coversheet for this). When the owner notices the item has been stolen, they remove the tag with the clothespin still attached, and place them in the Item Recycling Station.
The thief may then retrieve the item and their clothespin from the Item Recycling Station.
