Not much is known about Helix, a supercorporation specializing in medical magitek. Their healthcare products range from affordable placebos to fabulously expensive miracle drugs, but never bear the Helix brand. Instead, marketing and distribution is handled by a nigh-endless array of subsidiaries.

One thing that is widely known is that to help manage the always-rising costs of healthcare, Helix pioneered an alternative currency to silver, known as “health credits.” Earning and spending health credits is a byzantine affair. It is generally understood that one accumulates them by acting in service to other supercorps, but the exact mechanism by which this is recorded is a mystery to everyone. Still, most denizens of Civilized Space are happy enough to get their monthly allotment.

Aboard the Fenris, Helix is responsible for the development and maintenance of the cryostatis arrays which contain the evacuees of Etheriet, as well as the highly secretive flash-cloning magitek used by the Viking Program.
