Where did your character originate from? Below are suggested character origins suitable for the world of Valhalla. This is an optional step in character creation.
Through a corporate deal, family ties, bribery or your undeniable skill in a desperately needed specialty, you found a role for yourself on the Fenris sometime after it left Etheriet.
Consider: Who have you bonded with since your arrival? Is there anyone you want to get to know better? What is your unique skillset that will help you be an asset to the Fenris?
You were a resident of Etheriet. For how long, only you can say, but long enough to consider it home.
Consider: how did the destruction of the world impact your outlook? Did you lose anyone close to you? Did you bring any trinket of that doomed world with you on the ship? Who have you bonded with over the loss of your homeworld?

You died. Or at least, a version of you did. The current “you” is a flash clone, a magitek duplicate of your old body, with the latest backup of your memories imprinted onto it. The memory transfer process isn’t perfect of course, and there are definitely some things missing. If only you knew what they were.
Consider: Are there people who knew the old you? Do they treat you differently? What’s your relationship like with your old self? How much of yourself did you lose in the flash cloning process?

You are a current resident of the local planet. For whatever reason, you want to join the vikings and leave your world behind.
Consider: How will the people you left behind feel about you joining the vikings? How do you feel about your new shipmates, who may or may not have done violence to the world you’re leaving behind? What convinced you to leave?
Note: Requires participation in at least one Playtest.
You were not only a Homeworlder (see above), but you were one of the few hand-selected to be a viking by Aura XIV in Etheriet’s final hours.
Consider: How does the selection process influence your feelings towards the crew of the Fenris, your fellow Vikings? Do you resent the supercorps for forcing you to compete for survival?
