In ancient times, Daihachi was a construction and safety equipment company. Over hundreds of years they grew to encompass a multitude of industries, ruled by the Daihachi family for generations. Hereditary rule kept the corporation small but efficient compared to its competitors.

It was said that Aura XIII, the previous Daihachi CEO, was paranoid. She spent untold amounts of Silver unearthing and refurbishing an ancient machine long buried. She said it would be the salvation of the people in a time of impending crisis.

When the Maelstrom manifested in the galaxy, they no longer called her paranoid. Supercorporations fell over themselves trying to secure slots for their personnel on the Fenris. Daihachi Unlimited itself became a supercorporation practically overnight.

By virtue the virtue of Aura XIII appointing her eldest daughter as Captain, Daihachi has control of the Fenris. However, as a condition of support from the other supercorporations (especially COLORNeT), they must answer to the Board at the threat of being ousted and replaced.

In a further complication, after entrusting her eldest daughter with the ship’s command, Aura XIII ceded ownership of Daihachi and stayed planetside as Etheriet was swallowed up by the Maelstrom.

The current CEO has kept chaos at bay by assigning critical operations roles to her many siblings. This has proved to be an unpopular move, especially among the elves, who feel Daihachi is effectively a hereditary monarchy.
